Elias Negash: President

Elias Negash is an accomplished musician who has combined his native Ethiopian music with his jazz education, and influences from the world music segment. He played throughout the seventies and became one of the pioneering figures to have brought Reggae and African music to the Bay Area with smash hit groups including Obeah, Axum, Caribbean All Stars and the Rastafarians.


William Harris: Vice-President

William “Bill” Harris is an attorney who serves as Senior Corporate Counsel in the Legal Division of a San Francisco Bay Area Fortune 50 grocery retailer. Previously, he was counsel the San Francisco office of Littler Mendelson, a national labor and employment law firm.

Jill Dessalines: Secretary-Treasurer

Jill Dessalines is Assistant General Counsel for McKesson Corporation, the world’s largest pharmaceutical distributor and health care informatics company and a Fortune 15 corporation headquartered in San Francisco. Ms. Dessalines manages litigation for McKesson, hires and supervises outside counsel and devises strategy for the successful resolution of product liability, intellectual property, trade secret, employment and general business litigation matters.

Carl “Tony Moses” Wright: Director

Carl A.Wright aka Tony Moses' contribution to the development of the San Francisco Bay Area's culture and music has been well received over the past thirty (30) years. Radio personality and innovator of "Reggae Radio", he has maintained a voice in the Bay Area on radio KPOO 89.5fm S.F. and KPFA 94.1fm since 1974. He has invested much valuable time in the promotion of his country's (Jamaica) music and culture to the area.

Fikre Asefa: Director

Fikre Assefa currently works in the hospitality industry with the Oakland Convention Center/Marriott Hotel. Ms. Assefa's social work background and management experience is and has been a major component of her social and personal life.
